Supplemental Health Plans

What are supplemental health plans?

Supplemental health plans provide peace of mind and financial protection for expenses not covered by your primary health insurance. A hospital stay, serious illness or injury may not be just a physical setback. It can also disrupt your mental, social, and financial well-being.

The following benefits offer you and your family an expanded safety net of coverage. In most cases, once you enroll, premiums will be conveniently deducted from your paycheck.

Accidental Injury Insurance

Life is unpredictable. Be prepared for life's surprises with Accident insurance. The plan pays a benefit for a covered accident and the benefit amounts depend on the type of injury and treatment received. Whether you break a bone or experience a more serious injury, you can use the money for medical bills, monthly expenses and other bills that you may have while you recover. Accident insurance is provided by Aflac. You may elect at the time of hire or open enrollment.

Covers wide range of common injuries and services. Benefit is based on type of injury and treatment needed. High/Low coverage options.

Covered injuries may include:

  • Broken Bones
  • Burns
  • Torn Ligaments
  • Concussions
  • Eye Injuries
  • Ruptured Discs
  • Lacerations

Covered services include:

  • Emergency room visits
  • Hospitalization
  • Follow-up care
  • Physical therapy

Critical Illness Insurance

The out-of-pocket costs of a serious illness can be significant, even with medical insurance. To help offset these costs, Critical Illness insurance provides extra financial protection, paying a lump-sum directly to you if you are diagnosed with a covered condition, like a heart attack, cancer or stroke. That way you can focus on getting better, instead of worrying about how to cover your bills. Critical Illness insurance is provided by Aflac. You may elect at the time of hire or open enrollment.

Lump sum, tax-free benefit immediately upon diagnosis of a covered condition; coverage options of $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000.

Covered conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Invasive Cancer
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Major Organ Failure
  • End State Renal Failure
  • Coma

Business Travel Accident

Business Travel Accident Insurance is provided to you at no cost and provides you with protection for accidental bodily injury resulting in loss of life or specific severe injuries, as defined by the policy, while you are traveling on company business among other additional enhancements.

LifeLock™ with Norton™ provides comprehensive all-in-one protection for your identity, personal information, and connected devices.

Vacations & Leaves

Vacation

Colonial Group provides the following paid vacation:

Sick Leave

Employees accrue four (4) hours per month for each full month worked.

Unused sick time at the end of the calendar year will be banked at double the unused time up to twelve (12) days or 96 hours each year.

Maximum sick time banked is 1040 hours (130 days).

Parental Leave

Colonial Group provides employees time off without loss of pay for parental bonding following the birth or adoption of a child. New mothers are entitled to five (5) weeks of paid maternity leave to support bonding. Mothers and Fathers are eligible for one (1) week of paid paternity leave for the same purpose. Bereavement Leave

Colonial Group provides employees time off without loss of pay when a death of an immediate family member occurs. Up to three (3) days with pay may be granted to grieve a loss, or to attend or arrange the funeral services. For a list of immediate family please refer to the employee handbook.

Colonial Group observes 10 paid holidays each year:

  • 3 Floating Holidays (prorated for 1st year of employment)

Perks

Wedding and Anniversary Gifts

You and your spouse can receive a $50 gift each year on your wedding anniversary. If you get married for first time after joining the company, you will receive a $100 gift. A copy of your marriage certificate will be required.

Employee Gas Discount

Employees receive $0.10 per gallon, up to 25 gallons per week, on fuel purchases at any Enmarket location through the Enjoy Rewards program.

Tuition Reimbursement

Colonial Group provides tuition reimbursement for full- time employees who want to continue their education or achieve certification(s). After completing 1 year of employment, you may receive reimbursement of tuition for degree programs from accredited schools and approved certification programs up to the amount the IRS exempts from employment tax ($5,250 per year).
